SHU entries won 5 awards at a Cross-Strait New-media-based Creation Competition in June, competing against almost 1,000 pieces of work.

The event, judged by 17 industry experts in the categories of Journalism and Communication, Client APP design, Community Journalism and Communication Platform Design, 2D / 3D effects of Internet Video design was created by a number of organizations. They include the Fujian Provincial Department of Education, Fujian Normal University, Fujian Daily, the Fujian Provincial Association of Journalists, Fujian Communication Association co-sponsored Cross-strait New-media-based Creation Competition Cross-strait New-media-based Creation Competition.

TSAI YU-AN and CHEN PO-CHI from Department of Information and Communications led their team to win the first and second prize with their “Taiwan Night Market News Magazine”which explores the historical and cultural elements to Taiwan’s night markets and “Focus on Music”. Another two teams won honorable mentions through their “Citizen’s Eye” and “Gather Phone” projects. In the Internet Video Project, ZHU,PEI-TZU from Department of Journalism won the third prize with a documentary exploring the rights of burn patients.
