Professor LEE GONG-CHIN has urged students not to neglect reading hard copy books to learn an author’s logic and insight as part of the SHU Book Club award ceremony which promotes reading as a life experience.
At the Center for General Education event, 26 group winners were recognized among a total of 92 students’ groups, and 40 faculty groups. DR. Wu motivated students to develop paper-reading habits in the era of digital information and to learn to be “their own masters” in thinking independently.
Faculty group teacher WANG LI-YEH said the book clubs enhanced students minds by helping them accepting different opinions and discussing the issues among each other.
