Methodology: Linguistics and TESOL

This course introduces qualitative and quantitative methods of research in second language acquisition, linguistics and teaching English as a second language. It is designed to provide students with the basic concepts needed and problems encountered in conducting undergraduate research and research paper writing. Course Objectives: 1. Students will develop a basic knowledge of conducting a research project and writing an academic research paper. 2. Students will identify a workable topic for their senior theses. 3. Students will gather required references and data. 4. Students will select a research method. 5. Students will write an acceptable research proposal for their senior theses.
