Legal Writing

This is a one-year English legal writing course designed for students with and without legal background. The focus of curriculum in the first semester is to consider the US court system, legal authority and use of professional English, especially the area of intellectual property laws. In the second semester, it focuses on legal analysis and research, development of reasoning and writing. Students will learn the use of legal information database, legal citations, case briefing, legal analysis and some forms of legal writing.
