Contemporary Anglo-American Poetry

This course tries to help students to read and analyze a variety of poetry selections. It will introduce students to the nature and function of poetry’s fundamental components (image, sound, symbols, allusions). The course defines and demonstrates these components through the study of poems by 24 great British and American modern poets. The students are required to keep reading response journals.
