Master Program of Nonprofit and Social Enterprise

With the development of civil society in Taiwan, a variety of nonprofit organizations and social enterprises are established to provide social services and deal with problems that cannot be properly addressed by the public and private sector organizations. In order to further the development of civil society, the Master Program of Nonprofit and Social Enterprise at Shih Hsin University provides an opportunity for practitioners working in nonprofit organizations and social enterprises to acquaint themselves with the latest theoretical and practical knowledge. Designed as a platform of exchanging practical experience and learning managerial theories, the program intends to develop current and future executives for nonprofit organizations and social enterprises by integrating theories and practices to improve the performance of nonprofit organizations and social enterprises, to solve social problems, and to pursue public interests.

In order to achieve interdisciplinary learning, faculty members from the fields of public administration, business administration, information management, and speech communication, as well as the executives from nonprofit organizations and social enterprises are invited to offer courses or give lectures. By integrating theories and practices, and by emphasizing both professional expertise and ethical values, it is hoped that students can obtain core competencies necessary to become executives of nonprofit organizations and social enterprises for improving their managerial capacity, and for further the development of the third sector in Taiwan.
