Department of Communications Management
The Department of Communications and Management (CM) is distinct for its interdisciplinary curriculum that equips students with communications and business management skills. With the advent of the New Economy, media industries have foreseen challenges of the pressing demand of application of information and communication technology (ICT) in this new epoch. This includes digitalization, disintermediation, mergers and acquisitions, business process reengineering and organization transformation, 3C integration, and business globalization. The department adjusts its teaching, research, and service to respond to the changing landscape of media business transformation.
The department brings fresh insights to media industries, media operations, media marketing, information content design and creation, and policy issues by observing media, information, and ICT in diverse human and social contexts. We seek to understand the behaviors, factors, social and business practices, media, and tools that foster and hinder effective communications management. We place an emphasis on the training of professional managerial knowledge and integration of resources.
