The Convention Center was set up in June, 1994. It is located on Shih Hsin's Shenkeng campus. It is the first center offering practicum opportunities to the tourism program in Taiwan. The Center, nestled against green mountains and lush woodlands, is one of a few convention centers in Taipei having easy access to the wilderness. It provides rooms and board services for the University's exchange and internship students. Single rooms, double rooms, triple rooms, quad rooms, and family rooms are available, over 500 beds in total. The Center also houses a guestroom designated as a classroom for trainees, and kitchens/labs in the size of a national-standard examination hall for aspirants looking forward to becoming certified chefs specializing in Chinese and western cuisines, plus a pastry lab/classroom of the same standard for aspiring confectioners. Other than serving as classrooms and labs for trainees, the Center also cooperates with Shih Hsin's Continuing Education Program to host workshops on professional certification/licensing tests for the general public.
