The Shih Hsin University Newsweek is a campus news media, which publishes weekly news during the fall and spring semesters. As one of the University’s course, all the news are produced by the students in the Department of Journalism at Shih Hsin University, and most of the funds comes from the University itself. Students learn how to produce news stories in newspapers, TVs, and websites. The Shih Hsin University Newsweek reports not only local and school-related news, but national and international news as well. It has been organized into the following sections: community, business, education, sports, arts, culture, health, international affairs, and other features.
The Shih Hsin University Newsweek serves as both a forum of community discussions and a place for students interested in journalism. It publishes news and displays students’ opinions. Besides these purposes, it also serves as an overseer to uncover problems at the University and in society.
