College of the Humanities and Social Sciences
Founded in 1997, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences is home to the Graduate Institute of Social Transformation Studies, the Graduate for Institute of Gender Studies, the Department of Social Psychology, which offers a graduate program, and the Department of Chinese Literature, which offers graduate and PHD programs. In addition, there is the Department of English and the Department of Japanese Language and Literature. The college promotes among students and faculty members alike the principles of liberty and independent thinking. With many experienced professors in Taiwan and from overseas on the faculty, the college combines extensive resources and modern technology.
Each department hosts wide-ranging events, such as conferences and seminars. To address the global environment, the college also seeks to improve students’ Chinese, English and Japanese language ability. The college also engages in academic exchanges with overseas colleges and institutes to ensure the university keeps track of the latest educational developments.
